Speak Gigantular by Irenosen Okojie (3 January 2017 from Jacaranda) A startling debut short story collection from one of Britains rising literary stars. The 1970’s made a huge difference to the wolf population cause they were cut down severely. Then in 1973 the population of wolves were so low the government protected them by putting them on the endangered list(C). Around 1990 the wolves in Canada were studied for four years to make sure they were like the U.S. wolves and, after it was found that they were. So what does this mean? It means that 1/3 of the wolves captured were fit enough to be sent to the U.S. in a good area safe to live and populate a successful amount of wolves. Where were they sent? Yellowstone Park (D). They were sent here because it is one of the biggest parks in the United States. The wolves could also bring in the wolf lovers to donate and spend money to help fund their research on the wolves. This could help get the wolves off the endangered list. Now lets go to the present where we are on the edge of taking the wolves off the list of endangered animals. There are now 6,000 wolves in the United States. Also there are about 7,700-11,200 wolves in Alaska to bump up the total amount making the wolves ready to be released and, when wolf season comes out, hunted.
